In converting three dwellings to the range of new uses the existing three storey building to the Lisburn Road has been maintained and enhanced with sensitive landscaping directing visitors away from the existing front doors to the new entrance on the gable. The two storey volume of the gable entrance signals the presence of Macmillan on the site both during the day and at night. To the rear the existing much altered 2 storey returns have been removed to allow the construction of lifts, stairs and toilets making the Centre fully accessible. The existing brickwork has been repointed, timber sash windows replaced and the slate roof and rainwater goods repaired. New interventions have been achieved in glass, zinc, stone and iroko.
