Broadbridge Primary School

Broadbridge Primary School is situated in the village of Eglinton, County Londonderry. Opened in 1960 withminor extensions added in 1995, the school provides teaching accommodation for 406 primary aged children.

The brief was to provide a new 10-classroom extension and sports hall facility.  The existing school buildingwas refurbished to provide additional classrooms, administration/staff facilities, school meals accommodation and a library. The new extension replaces existing mobile classrooms with a specialist sports hall and 10 new classrooms with associated facilities. A new hard play area was provided along with general landscaping.

The Project had several site-specific characteristics; live primary school environment, offsite parking behaviours, limited construction access, fast track delivery programme, demolition and considered phasing arrangements were required to integrate the new and existing facilities.

The school was handed over in August 2018.
